Last night I saved a form that I designed in IND, this morning the file won't open.
I tried rebooting, but that didn't make a difference.

I see the file on my harddrive.

There is no file in the recovery folder.

Any suggestions?

Any suggestions?
You can start with some details. Like what happens when you try and what
version of InDesign you're using.

Nothing happens

I click on the file to open it, the hour glass shows up, it stops and that's it.

I can open other files that I was working on yesterday, just not this one.

I click on the file to open it
Where? From the recent files menu in ID? Windows? From Win Explorer?

What happens if you use the Open file dialog from within InDesign and navigate to the file?

I tried opening the file in a few ways.

1) With InDesign running, I clicked on "Open Recent" and clicked on the file

2) With InDesign running, I clicked on "Open" located and clicked on the file

3) With InDesign NOT running, I located the file on my HD and clicked on the file. InDesign started but the file never opened.

In all cases, I never received any error messages

Reboot, open InDesign and try File > Open again. It probably won't work, but I've seen cases where a failed attempt leaves processes running that interfere with the proper operation of the program.

Ok, Problem Solved!

Thanks for your help. You guys where great!

Here's what was happening, when the file opened, it opened minimized and was hidden behind the control bar. First time that has happened and I've been using InDesign since 1.5 came out.

Boy do I feel like a dummy!

Any chance it was minimized when you closed ID?

I've seen my recent files lists, window positions and such change from time to time after virus and spyware scans, but never had a file go from an open window to minimized on open.

I can't say it was not minimized when I closed InDesign.
I will say that it is not my habit to do so.

I was running a file that a customer gave to me which was composed in Publisher. I was printing this file to PDF while InDesign was open.

I set my virus and spyware scans to run when I'm at lunch. This file was the last file I worked on before I went home at night.

Other than that, nothing out of the ordinary.
