Hello. I am asking this question for someone I'm working on a project with. I don't have ID or any experience using it, so please bear with me.
He's using ID CS3 on Windows XP. He is creating newsletters in PDF format, and is laying out the document using facing 8.5 x 11 pages. The final format is to be PDF, which will usually have various form fields added using Acrobat 9, for custom navigation and some fillable form fields.
The root of the problem is two versions of the document are needed: one for those who want to print it out (8.5 x 11 PDF pages) and one for on-screen viewing (11 x 17 PDF pages).
He was evaluating Quite Imposing to create the 11 x 17 version out of the 8.5 x 11 version, but Quite Imposing does not retain any link annotations that are present after exporting to PDF from ID. He tried printing spreads to PDF (using the Acrobat PDF printer), but again, no links were retained.
Can anyone give some guidance here? Is it possible to print as spread to PDF and retain the links? Most of the ID documents he's dealing with have hundreds of links, so recreating the links in Acrobat for the 11 x 17 version is out of the question.
Thanks for any help you can provide.
