arrows & labels in pictures?

I'm putting some images into an Indesign document, and I would like to create some labels with arrows that point to parts of the pictures. Can I do that in Indesign?

Sure. Just check the stroke panel for start and end for arrow heads.

I was hoping for a more automated tool to create annotations instead of having to draw lines and have separate text. Is there a way to attach the arrows and label text to an image so it will move together?

Depends on what you mean. You could group everything or you could check
out anchored objects.
