PDF does not crop in Indesign

I have just noticed this. It is possibly normal but I have never noticed it before. I cropped down to a centre image on a page of a pdf in Acrobat. When opened in Acrobat or Photoshop it just displays the cropped area but when I place it in Indesign CS it is magically back to the full page. Can anyone explain this to me?

Hi,
cropping in Acrobat does not actually remove all information.
If you want to import only the cropped section of your PDF make sure you've got the 'Show Import Options' selected in Indesign Place dialog box ... then you'll be able to choose the option you need.

Placing without the 'show import option' selected imports automatically to 'bounding box'.
