Is it possible to Recover a document after InDesign crash?

I was creating a long document in InDesign and after placing some bad Word
document, Indesign crashed..
The bad thing is that I didn't save file before a crash, and after reopening
file after crash I realized that 60 pages are missing..
Can I recover this information somehow? Does InDesign makes AutoSave files
(and how can I open them?)

Thank you in advance,
R.

InDesign is near-miraculous in this way. If you haven't done it already, just restart the application and the automatic recovery will take over.

On occasion a file is damaged beyond hope and can't be recovered, casing ID to go into a seemingly endless loop of asking if you wan to recover and the crashing again. If that happens, the file is probably too far gone, though there is a thread on the Mac side about "need a fix my corrupted file service" that has a glimmer of hope, but I don't know if anyone can work with the recovery data.

In any case, if you find yourself in that situation you have to empty the recovery folder in your user profile. The location varies by ID version and Windows version, and the folder is hidden, so set explorer to show hidden files and folders, the search for "InDesign Recovery" and it should pop up.
