PRINTING AN EPS IMAGE IN REVERSE

Hope someone out there can help this InDesign newbie. I have a B/W Illustrator logo that, in a previous lifetime (aka PageMaker) I could import and print in reverse (white image on color field). But that's not working for me these daze. I've tried converting it to BMP and TIFF; but those don't work either. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

If you rasterize the logo in Photoshop as a bitmap you can make that white when imported into InDesign.

The image can be easily reversed in Illustrator and a new reversed file generated. I personally like to work with images that are in proper form when they are placed. I think that makes workflow less tedious and unpredictable, not relying on the 'tricks' that can be accomplished in the page layout program.

In Indesign you could also turn the clipping path on and then hit the invert button on the clipping mask.

Back again. Thought I knew what I was doing, but I obviously don't.

Scott. . . How do I make the logo white?

Ken. . . How do I reverse in Illustrator?

Thanks again.

If you rasterized as a bitmap mode tiff and placed in InDesign, you select the placed graphic with the white arrow to apply any color to it (even white). Naturally it would have to be on top of some color or picture to show up.

Ken's idea is better: In illustrator select that which is black and apply the white swatch to it. You can put a dark colored box in the background, temporarily so you can see your white logo in Illustrator. Save as .ai and place in ID.

Also, in Illustrator if you change Preferences>File Handling and Clipboard to AICB instead of PDF, you can select all in Illustrator, copy, then paste into InDesign and you will have fully editable paths in InDesign.

PS: Is that what you have been doing? Copy paste? If so the better method is really to save a .ai file and place.

PPS: Could one ever colorize Illustrator art linked to Pagewrecker???

Pagewrecker ;) did not do this; it is a mystery, and part of the confusion I think.
