Hello. Can one create custom paragraph rules in InDesign? I want to add Wingdings to the bottom of a paragraph format instead of lines. Is this possible?
Thanks!

Check the Custom Line Style menu. ... not there? Well, you can't.

[Just to tease:] Create a new line style and call it "Woof". Just take a defult style, it doesn't matter. Draw a line and apply this style ...

If you're going to do that I suggest a line thickness of 20 pts or so.

Try this:

Add a forced line break and type a tab. It needn't be any special tab, but it has to be an ordinary tab to start. Open the tabs panel and set a position (random -- we just need to get to the leader) and set the leader as whatever keystroke gets you the dingbat you want.

Now, back in the text, select the tab (all you'll see is the leader characters) and change the font to your dingbat font, and then, with the tab still selected, type shift + Tab to convert to a right indent tab and your dingbats will extend across the column.

Unfortunately I don't see a way of saving this as a style, but it can be copied and pasted.
