Combining Diacritical Marks in InDesign?

Hello,

I'm typing non-Latin text, and I need to put very special accents on
very special letters. What I do in Microsoft Word is: I type the
letter, then go to Insert>Symbol and select "Combining Diacritical
Marks". Then Microsoft Word displays the accent over the letter. (Note
that this newly created character is not originally included in the
font.) Does InDesign CS2 support such combinations?

Thanks in advance for any information!

InDy supports a lot. For extended characters, when you are about to
type it, open the Glyph palette. It will show a table with all
characters available for that particular font that you are using.

Just double-click that character of your choice, and it will be
inserted into the text.

In InDy 2, go to menu Window > Type > Insert Glyph...
